BREAKING: Woman Nearly Dies After COVID Test Goes Horribly Wrong

(Republican Party News) – While COVID poses a threat to some people within certain categories and COVID shots pose a threat to a much larger range of people, there’s another COVID-related threat many people might not even be aware of: the at-home test swabs.

While we have known that the test swabs are riddled with toxins you really don’t want to be putting into your body, they also can apparently choke you if you use them incorrectly.

One UK woman found this out the hard way after she decided to use a test kit nasal swab on her throat. When she inadvertently swallowed it, it almost punctured her intestines which could have killed her.

Bobby Lee, a mother of one, decided to take a rapid test after she started feeling sick one night when she returned home from work, according to New York Post.

The testing kit’s instructions tell users to swab their nasal cavities but Lee decided to swab the back of her throat instead. What could possibly go wrong? A lot, apparently.

Some social media users have been encouraging people to swab their throats instead of their noses and perhaps Lee was influenced by these kinds of posts.

“When I swabbed the back of my throat, I sort of gagged,” Lee told the London-based South West News Service, according to the Post.

“The stick twanged in my mouth and got stuck at the back of my throat, with the swab down my throat and the end stuck in the roof of my mouth in the back.”

Lee attempted to remove the swab but quickly realized it was stuck. Naturally, she began fearing for her life as it became difficult to breathe. She drove to an emergency room right away.

Medics decided to perform emergency surgery to remove the swab though they had never seen a situation like this before.

“It had gone all the way into my tummy. The pictures they took with the camera down my throat even showed it near my intestines,” Lee explained, “It had to come out of my mouth though, as if it had gotten into my intestines, it would have punctured them.”

“It was really scary,” she added. “It could have ended up fatal.”

The trend to swab the throat instead of the nasal cavity began in response to reports of people testing negative for COVID using the nasal swab test properly but positive when they swabbed their throats.

Is COVID that serious, dangerous and deadly that it can’t be detected in the nose but it can be in the throat?

Dr. Michael Daignault, an ER physician and chief medical adviser for Reliant Health Services, explained to KXAS-TV in Fort Worth, Texas, in January that the unique symptoms of the omicron variant might be to blame for the false positives from nasal swabs.

“The omicron variant, we’ve seen that it’s causing sore throat and nasal congestion, and so if you miss a good sample from the nose and you swab the back of your throat, it increases the accuracy of the test,” he said.

While it might be more “accurate” to swab the back of your throat, be warned, it could result in a life-threatening situation.

Even the FDA warns people against throat swabs because they are “more complicated” than nasal swabs and “if used incorrectly, can cause harm to the patient.”

If you insist on testing for COVID, do it the right way.

  1. This reminds me of a woman who sued a company that made spermicidal contraceptive jelly. While using the jelly, she got pregnant.

When asked if she used the jelly whenever she had sex, she said she used it everyday. She said at every breakfast she made toast and spread the jelly on it, even though she didn’t like the taste. Of course the judge said, CASE DISMISSED.

When all else fails, follow the directions.

  2. HMMMM! Professors go to Twitter for MEDICAL ADVICE? What could possibly go wrong?

Try Tic TOK, or maybe Amazon next time.
