(Republican Party News) – The Jan. 6 Capitol riot is still being discussed in Congress but this time it’s Republicans demanding answers and accountability.
On Tuesday, House Republicans filed an ethics complaint against House Democrats who made false accusations against members of the GOP saying they gave constituents “reconnaissance” tours the day before the Jan. 6 incident.
A group of Democrats, led by New Jersey Rep. Mikie Sherrill, have falsely alleged, without proof or evidence, that GOP members of Congress led “suspicious” groups through the Capitol Complex on Jan. 5.
The Daily Caller reported that the Republicans who filed the ethics complaint note that the Democrats have repeatedly failed to back up their claims with any kind of evidence and argue that the House rules prohibit a member “from making false, spurious, and unsubstantiated accusations against our members.”
The complaint from GOP members noted that Sherrill had said that she was concerned that some of her colleagues had provided “reconnaissance” tours just prior to the Jan. 6 breach which occurred after President Trump held a massive rally at the Ellipse during which he urged supporters to go “peacefully” to the Capitol.
Sherrill vehemently insisted that “The visitors encountered by some of the Members of Congress on this letter appeared to be associated with the rally at the White House the following day. Members of the group that attacked the Capitol seemed to have an unusually detailed knowledge of the layout of the Capitol Complex. The presence of these groups within the Capitol Complex was indeed suspicious.”
Despite these claims, Capitol Police did not respond or do any kind of investigation. Sherrill, however, doubled down on her claims even while not providing any kind of proof.
The House Republicans noted in the complaint that Sherrill took her accusations onto social media with an “official appearance from her congressional office, which was broadcast on her official Facebook account.”
They claim she “doubled down on these unsubstantiated allegations” and also insisted on “punishment” for Republicans who committed the crimes that did not occur.
Sherill said: “I also intend to see that… those Members of Congress who had groups coming through the Capitol that I saw on January 5th for reconnaissance for the next day—those Members of Congress who incited the violent crowd, those Members of Congress that attempted to help our president undermine our democracy—I’m going to see that they’re held accountable.”
The Republicans are also charging that the Democrats have failed to “adhere to the highest moral principles” and that had Sherrill made her comments on the House floor she would have been censured.
They are alleging that Sherrill made a “public allegation of a crime” and they’re requesting an investigation into the Democrats’ “cavalier behavior” in response.
Democrats have seemingly been attempting to keep focus off of their leader House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Republicans have previously questioned Pelosi’s lack of response to claims that an attack was likely to occur on Jan. 6.
Pelosi’s office has responded to these questions by blaming Republican lawmakers and claiming that safety is not their priority.
The reality is that Nancy Pelosi had information prior to Jan. 6 that an incident may occur and she failed to take action and Republicans claim she should have secured the building on Jan. 6.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden and his regime are destroying America and the world.
