(Republican Party News) – While the FDA has just approved emergency use authorization for fourth and, for some people, fifth COVID shots, the World Health Organization has said its looking into reports of hearing loss connected with the vaccines.
As if the list of side effects from the vaccines need to get any longer.
According to NBC News, the WHO has reported 367 cases of tinnitus among people who had received a COVID jab. Tinnitus is a condition categorized by a constant ringing in the ears. Those who suffer from vaccine-induced tinnitus developed the condition within one day of receiving a COVID shot.
The connection is impossible to ignore.
This side effect doesn’t appear to be limited to any particular age range as those afflicted range from age 19 to 91. However, 75% of patients who reported developing tinnitus were women.
On top of that, the WHO reported that 164 people identified new hearing loss after receiving the vaccine as of Feb. 22. Keep in mind, these are the numbers of people who actually reported this side effect. It’s impossible to know the true number of people who experienced tinnitus or hearing loss after receiving COVID shots.
“A recent signal detection activity at the Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) identified hearing loss (including sudden cases) and tinnitus following COVID-19 vaccination as a preliminary signal to be further assessed,” the WHO wrote in a newsletter.
Some of the patients who reported these conditions also experienced symptoms such as “headache, dizziness and nausea,” the WHO said.
According to NBC, the reports of tinnitus related to the vaccine came from 27 different countries including Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Some patients were able to recover quickly while others had to undergo “steroid treatment” to overcome the condition. Multiple patients also described their post-vaccine tinnitus as “unrelenting and life-altering for months.”
The WHO said it needed to continue monitoring reports of vaccine-induced tinnitus and hearing loss in order to determine what the next steps should be.
“Awareness of this possible link may help healthcare professionals and those vaccinated to monitor symptoms and seek care, as appropriate,” the newsletter said.
“As there is still only limited data in the literature providing evidence for this link, further monitoring is required.”
Tinnitus and hearing loss are only the latest “side effects” to be connected to the COVID vaccines and, despite being a nuisance, are relatively mild in comparison to some of the other ailments and conditions people have experienced after getting the shots.
None of that apparently matters to the FDA who, on Tuesday, authorized a fourth dose of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for anyone over the age of 50 and even a fifth for those who are severely immunocompromised.
These “boosters,” however, are still the same old shots they’ve always been which have been designed for the original virus that came out of Wuhan in the beginning of the pandemic.
Of course, the FDA doesn’t care about actual science. If they did, they’d probably be holding meetings with their expert panel on vaccines before authorizing more boosters but they didn’t even bother to do that.
These COVID vaccines are just as political as COVID.
