Trump Urges ‘Second Chance’ For Bud Light

(Republican Party News) – Former President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that Bud Light has paid a heavy price for their partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, which led to a massive boycott of the popular beer brand that ultimately cost them billions of dollars last year. Trump also threatened to release a list of “woke” companies, likely hoping they will suffer the same fate.

According to Fox Business, Trump made a post on Truth Social where he referred to the Bud Light ad featuring Mulvaney as a “mistake of epic proportions.” That is definitely an accurate assessment.

“And for that a very big price was paid, but Anheuser-Busch is not a Woke company, but I can give you plenty that are,” he remarked. “Am building a list, and might just release it for the world to see.”

“Why not, the Radical Left does it viciously to well run, conservative companies — and people,” the former president added. “Very nasty, but it’s the way they play the game!”

Bud Light received a ton of criticism in 2023 after the ad was released with many folks pledging to boycott its purchase. The parent company of the brand, Anheuser-Busch InBev sent personalized beer cans to social media influencers, including Mulvaney who is transitioning to a woman.

“The pushback came quickly, and some stores were forced to give Bud Light away for free; the company even resorted to buying back unsold, expired beer from wholesalers. A short time later, Modelo Especial passed Bud Light as the No. 1-selling beer brand on a dollar basis for the four-week and single-week period ending June 3, 2023,” the report detailed.

It’s been almost a year since the debacle and Bud Light is still struggling to win back its customers.

“Sales of the beer were down 29.9% year over year for the week ending Jan. 20, compared with the same period last year, according to the latest numbers provided to FOX Business by Bump Williams Consulting, which analyzed NielsenIQ data. In an effort to win back customers, the brand created a 60-second advertisement that will air during the Super Bowl this Sunday. The campaign, dubbed ‘Easy Night Out,’ focuses on a group of friends who encounter a ‘Bud Light Genie’ that grants them wishes during a night out, including having Bud Lights magically appear,” the article added.

The group is set to have encounters with NFL Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, rap star Post Malone, and Dana White, the CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Trump went on in his post to heap praise on Anheuser-Busch, stating the company is currently spending $700 million a year “with our GREAT Farmers” while also providing 65,000 jobs for Americans. A total of 1,500 of those workers are military veterans. He also pointed out that the company is raising millions of dollars in scholarship funds.

“Anheuser-Busch is a Great American Brand that perhaps deserves a Second Chance?” he declared in the post. “What do you think? Perhaps, instead, we should be going after those companies that are looking to DESTROY AMERICA!”

Anheuser-Busch did not respond to requests made by FOX Business for a comment regarding Trump’s post.

  1. There are many great beers out there who focus on doing their job instead of making political commentary. Once someone lies to me I don’t trust anything the try to sell me on. They still have not publicly, humbly and honestly apologized to the public for what they did. Let them sell their assets to good companies and go home.
